Creamy Vegan Pasta Sauce? Yes, please. I tried out this recipe a while ago, but finally got around to writing it up and getting the ratios right.
I want to preface this by saying that not all tahini is created equal. What I mean by this is that some tahini is more liquidy than others and it is important to pay attention to this if you want to get the ratio of this sauce right in your recipe.
I mention this below, but when blending your sauce if the consistency seems off there are some things you can do. If it seems to be too thick try adding in a bit more water until it reaches the right consistency. If it is too liquidy add in more tahini. That’s why I suggest adding less at first and then more if needed. That way it is easier to add in your spices and get the flavor perfect.
Now I do love tahini, but this sauce is so much better if you add garlic, onion powder, and a generous amount of salt and pepper to it. If you are feeling up to it, I’m sure it would be delicious to add in some cayenne pepper if you want more of a spice.
I used regular spaghetti for this pasta, but you could definitely use something more interesting. In thought the kale and the kalamata olives would make a great addition to the recipe, but you could add or disregard either of those ingredients.
Personally I think that just the pasta and sauce itself is delicious, but a little boring. After all, if I’m going to put myself into a pasta coma, I’d at least like to get in some greens.
